Transform an ordinary staircase into a smart, automatic lighting system with the JOVXIAZ® JOV-0832 Smart Motion Sensor LED Stair Light Kit.

Built around the JOV-0832 32-channel stair lighting controller, this system combines dual PIR motion sensing, iStar Lighting APP control, and RF remote control to provide intelligent step-by-step staircase illumination.

Install one PIR sensor at the top of the staircase and another at the bottom. When motion is detected, the controller automatically activates the stair lights in the corresponding direction, creating a smooth running or cascading lighting effect. After the selected delay period, the lights automatically turn off.

The JOV-0832 supports up to 32 individually controlled stair channels, making it suitable for everything from compact residential staircases to larger multi-step installations. Brightness, animation speed, delay time, step quantity, lighting modes, and other parameters can be customized from the mobile APP.

For more advanced staircase designs, the controller also provides two dedicated DAT outputs for compatible pixel LED strips, allowing additional handrail or side-lighting effects. (OPTIONAL)

Smart Motion-Activated Stair Lighting

Dual PIR motion sensors monitor both ends of the staircase.

When someone approaches from the bottom, the lighting sequence runs upward. When motion is detected from the top, the lighting sequence runs downward. This directional activation provides convenient nighttime illumination without requiring a traditional wall switch.

The motion-sensing function can also be enabled or disabled depending on how you want the staircase lighting to operate.

iStar Lighting APP Control
Configure the system directly from your smartphone. Adjust the number of stairs, brightness, running speed, delay time, lighting effects, pixel-strip settings, and scheduled operation.

RF Remote Control
Quickly access frequently used functions without opening the APP. Adjust brightness, speed, stair quantity, delay settings, motion mode, pixel functions, and always-on lighting.

Dual PIR Motion Sensor Control
Automatically activate the staircase lights whenever motion is detected at either end of the stairs.

Scheduled Operation
Use the APP's timed-work function to configure when the stair lighting system operates, with additional slow-start and slow-end functionality available.

DC12–24V Low-Voltage System
The JOV-0832 operates with a DC12–24V power supply, making it suitable for low-voltage indoor staircase lighting installations.

How It Works

1. Motion is detected
The upstairs or downstairs PIR sensor detects someone approaching the staircase.

2. The controller determines direction
The JOV-0832 identifies whether activation came from the upper or lower sensor.

3. Stair lights illuminate sequentially
Each connected step activates in sequence, producing a smooth running-light effect.

4. Lights remain on for the selected delay
The user-defined delay allows sufficient time to finish walking up or down the stairs.

5. Lights automatically switch off
After the delay expires, the staircase returns to standby mode until motion is detected again.

JOV-0832 Controller Specifications

Ideal Applications

The JOVXIAZ® JOV-0832 system is suitable for wooden stairs, floating stairs, open-riser stairs, closed-riser staircases, straight staircases, residential stairways, basement stairs, hallway stairs and other indoor architectural staircase-lighting projects.

It is particularly suitable for installations where you want automatic step-by-step illumination instead of conventional all-on/all-off staircase lighting.

Important Installation Notes

Use a suitable DC12–24V power supply and maintain the correct positive and negative polarity when connecting each stair-light channel.

Install one PIR sensor near the top of the staircase and the other near the bottom of the staircase where approaching movement can be detected reliably.

The controller is intended for indoor use only. Do not install it in damp or wet locations, and disconnect power before wiring or servicing the system.
